
Brian Lievens was born Deaf in a Deaf family. Brian was raised in Chicago area and attended Illinois School for the Deaf before transferring to St. Rita School for the Deaf near Cincinnati, Ohio. Brian believed in Christ Jesus as his own personal Savior when his father, Daniel Lievens, explained him the plan of salvation from John 3 when he was 11 years old. After watching Dr. Reggie Rempel preach on a video from DBFA in Arizona, Brian was called of the Lord to preach the Word when he was 15 years old. Brian graduated from Hinsdale South High School in 1998 and attended Bob Jones University for 4 years, studying for the ministry. Brian began dating the love of his life, Bethany (Coleman) when both were students at Bob Jones University. After graduating from BJU, Brian and Bethany got married in 2003 and remained under the ministry of Pastor Mark Coleman at Bethel Baptist Church in Schaumburg, IL for 3 years before moving to Delavan, Wisconin to become the Deaf pastor at East Delavan Baptist Church in 2006. Because Brian was a part-time Deaf pastor, he became a teacher at Wisconsin School for the Deaf. He earned a master’s degree in Exceptional Education at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013. Currently, Brian continues to be the Deaf pastor at EDBC and became the principal at Wisconsin School of the Deaf in September 2016. Brian and Bethany have 5 beautiful daughters and their names are Anna, Nora, Talia, Lyra, and Sophia.
