James Liebrecht is Deaf Pastor of Capitol City Baptist Church in Holt, Michigan.

I grew up in the Roman Catholic Church with my hearing family in DeWitt, Michigan (north of Lansing area) and used to be an altar boy. There were no interpreter and I was lost. I grew up playing hockey and soccer and I was on Olympic Deaf Hockey team in 1991 and Olympic Deaf soccer team in 1993. But my heart was still empty without Jesus. One day my oldest brother Steve invited me to go to his Baptist Church. I visited his church several times over years. Then one day at this church, the pastor preached a sermon on “Hell”. I was shocked to hear the truth about Hell, and I trusted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour on July 19, 1992. I went to Hyles-Anderson College in 1994 and graduated in 1999. I married my beautiful wife Jenny who is also a Hyles-Anderson graduate. We have 4 wonderful children. I became the Deaf Pastor at Capitol City Baptist Church in Holt, Michigan in April 2019.
